unfolding perspectives

Writer's picture: Abhigna KediaAbhigna Kedia

Perspective shapes everything we know.

It defines the way we see the world,

what we learn, what we understand,

what we think we know.

But how often do we pause

to look at the way we are looking?

The rules we follow,

the frameworks we cling to,

the knowledge we hold so tightly—

all of it feels certain, until it doesn’t.

And that’s where the shift begins.

Perspective isn’t static; it grows with us.

Its depth depends on how far we’re willing to expand,

to see the world through another’s eyes,

to question why someone thinks the way they do,

to understand the roots of their perspective

and, in turn, our own.

Sometimes, it is in breaking the rules

that we discover something truer.

Sometimes, it is in seeing with fresh eyes—

like a child does, with no burden of “should” or “must”—

that we begin to see the world

as it actually is.

Learning, unlearning,

playing, feeling, being.

It is all connected, isn’t it?

Like layers, peeling back one by one,

revealing what has always been there—

a space within us, vast and infinite.

Recently, I have been stepping into that space,

immersing myself in the timeless knowledge of the past.

It feels like walking through an ancient forest,

every step opening a door to something thats been there since time but I had forgotten,

something I am just now beginning to understand what my breath already knows.

This journey isn’t about collecting knowledge;

it’s about becoming it.

becoming abhigna

abhigna means knowledge

As I move through this transformation,

I find myself returning to the same questions.

What does it mean to create?

What does it mean to be an artist?

I think of the first lesson I learned in art school:

Perspective.

How to see,

how to draw what you see,

how to understand the space between you and the world.

But what they didn’t tell me then,

what I am only learning now,

is that perspective isn’t just about lines or angles.

It’s about peeling back those layers,

finding clarity in the bareness,

and seeing the world—not as it appears,

but as it is.

The expanse of perspective depends on how deeply you explore something.

The depth of perspective depends on how far you expand yourself to other perspectives.

It is a two-way journey—into the self,

and out into the world.

Creation doesn’t come from abundance.

It comes from presence.

From that stillness in the emptiness,

where something raw and honest can emerge.

Perhaps this is why (for the first time ever) I feel so deeply connected to my first name Bhuvaneshvari—

the goddess of infinite space,

the one who holds all of creation within her.

Not that I am calling myself a goddess,

but to create is to embody her essence—

to step into that space and let it move through you.

that mirrors the space I step into when I create.

And so I create, layer by layer,

learning perspective, becoming perspective.

Becoming.

I wonder—

Am i the perspective or is there a perspective within me?

what does perspective mean to you?

Is it the way you see the world?

Or is it something deeper,

something you are still discovering,

one layer at a time?
